MCR3U is the Grade 11 university-preparation Functions course. Building on concepts from Grades 9 and 10, this course introduces students to a deeper understanding of various functions, including quadratic, exponential, and trigonometric types. Students will learn to work with these functions by representing them numerically (through tables of values), algebraically (with equations), and graphically. A key focus is on applying these functions to solve real-world problems and using technology to explore mathematical ideas and communicate their reasoning effectively. The curriculum also expands to include topics like sequences, series, and practical financial math, such as calculating compound interest.
